Marvelous Monday

Ever have one of those days where you just feel like being grouchy? Nothing's going wrong but a little part of you wants it to be so you can justify your general annoyance with the world. Today was one of those days so I had to try extra hard to pay attention to the good things about my Monday.
**Started the morning with French Vanilla coffee cream (decided to switch it up a bit from the usual hazelnut).
**Taught some great classes
**Had lunch with my favorite ladies =)
**Had some quiet time with my little Noah friend
**It was taco night at the Berkey's
**Went to my last (sniff sniff) jewelry class =(
**Came home to find that the hubby had done EVERYTHING on the to-do list AND scrubbed the kitchen floors =)
**It was indeed a Marvelous Monday =) I'll leave you with some promised pictures of the treasures I created in jewelry class. Silver disk on the left & Seldovia beach glass on the right.

It's officially official.....

Our condo is officially on the market! It's scary, exciting and sad at the same time. I love love love our little condo and am sad to say goodbye to it. The hubby has put so much work into it just so that I could have a cute little home. I know that we will find the perfect home for us and he will do amazing things to it but change is alwaya little unsettling.
We've looked at a ton of houses lately. Some are amazing...others are nasty.... but it's been fun seeing what's out there. Our realtor is wonderful and I have high hopes that the whole buying/selling process will go smoothly!

Check out our listing!

Marvelous Monday

My Mondays really have been marvelous lately. Today was jammed packed with exciting things but it maked for a loooong and exhausting day.

I started my marvelous Monday with a big ol' cup of coffee and hazelnut creamer (thank goodness for the fat-free kind because I'm drinking it like it's going out of style).

It was sunny and chilly today-my absolute favorite weather!!!

Work was marvelous because I did an artsy lesson with the kids and they loved it.

After work we met with our real estate agent and picked out the houses we want to see. She'll be coming to our place on Wednesday and it'll go on the market on Thursday! The exciting part is getting to look at all of the houses and we have a whole bunch on our list.

We came home to find dinner on the stove and clean dishes (one of the perks of having Terry live with us!).

The day ended with my 2nd jewelry class where I was able to make a ring with green beach glass from Seldovia. I still need to clean it up next week but it turned out looking great. I'm so excited to wear it!

This Monday was marvelous and I'm off to bed! Sorry for the lack of pictures...too tired right now but I'll post jewelry pictures soon ;-)

Too sunny to work!

This weather has been AMAZING! An entire week of glorious sunshine is what we Juneauites have been enjoying! Last week was busy with meetings, work, classes and real estate appointments and it was torture knowing that we were missing out on the sunshine.
Luckily we were able to get out and play this weekend. We filled our days with long drives with Adam's dad.....yummy breakfast with the book club....learning all about Thailand from my cute little exchange student friend.....lots of walks with friends and the pup.....soaking up the sunshine in camping chairs......tasting the best iced hazelnut latte.....bonfires across from the glacier...lunch downtown and quiet evenings with friends. What did you do this weekend?

Marvelous Monday

My Marvelous Monday post is being posted L-A-T-E tonight because of this......
*This Monday was fabulous because tonight was the first night of my jewelry class! It's a class that I've been wanting to take for a long time but always fills up too quickly. I made a pendant which was my practice piece and am almost done with my ring. I"ll post better pictures when the project is complete.
*I wore two of my favorite colors....green & yellow!!!
*This was the first Monday of Adam's dad being in town.
*I had great classes today! I love it when the kids cooperate!
*Took my pup for a nice long walk along by the lakes.
*Sat in the sun and enjoyed the quiet.
*Saw a butterfly!
*Ate the best left-over cheeseburger!
*Had time to sneak a dutch apple chai tea from Heritage.
and the best thing that made this Monday Marvelous was.....
....the sunshine!!!!! Love, Love, Love it!

We're ready!

Adam's dad comes to town TOMORROW! I went to costco and loaded up on all his favorites (he's pretty easy to please, right??)

I'm not sure where the week went. In fact, I'm not really sure where September is going. Like the old saying goes, "time flies when you're having fun" and we have definitely been having fun lately. Work has been great and we've had lots of unexpected guests drop by after the work day. Adam and I both love having evening company! It's such a nice way to unwind and end the day.

This weekend we'll be busy cleaning, packing and working in our classrooms so that we can be ready for next week. We have lots of exciting things going on next week and I can't wait to write my Marvelous Monday post!!! (Monday IS going to be a good day!) Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

always entertaining...

Working with elementary students is always interesting and never dull. It's impossible to prepare yourself for what might happen during the day. Some days can be rough but overall working with kids under 12 is highly entertaining.
Take today for example.....I had Adam's 5th graders for counseling this afternoon and they must've taken some goof-ball pills at lunch because they were wound up and giggly. One of the boys let out a loud fart and the entire class just lost it. The rest of our time together was a complete loss since they were so focused on the horrible stench eminating from the back corner. You can only imagine how Adam reacted when he found out his students were a handful for ME!!! He had all his kids write apology letters and I just have to share this one from the "culprit".

Dear Mrs. Berkey,
Sorry for the way I was acting. I have ADHD like level 8 and Mr. Berkey gives me coffee and it's supposed to help with ADHD. Mrs. Odaniel gave it to me and she said it helps it but it must not have kicked in yet when I came. Next time I won't talk or if I have to toot I will ask to go to the bathroom and I won't sit next to ********* anymore or anyone I will talk to. I'm sorry.

Yeah....so that was my day. On another note...Adam's dad has his ticket and will be here Sunday. =)

You'd have a great day too.....

.....if this was what you found on your desk this morning. =) Made my day........

Marvelous Monday numero tres....

OOOOHHHHHH, this one is easy! Today is marvelous because.....
I was able to sleep in just a little bit....
It was a holiday!
The sun came out to play!!!

My new carmel syrup was delicious in my coffee (I might be regretting that 2nd cup that I just HAD to have at 5 p.m.)

I had my teeth cleaned by my second favorite dental hygentist (Lena, you're wonderful but my mom will always be my first favorite ;-) )

(Just look at those pearly whites)

I walked with my favorite trail with my favorite walking partners..

We went out and had a fire across from the glacier.

And finally...today was marvelous because I got to hang out with my two favorite boys ;-)

What made your Monday Marvelous???
