Wonderful end to the Weekend

This week has been fairly uneventful. Adam went to the Doctor on Tuesday and was told he had a sinus and ear infection as well as bronchittis. He was given a 12 day antibiotic and told to come back if it didn't help.
Thursday was my last day at the Red Dog. It was a wet and rainy day so not many tourists were out shopping.

This weekend we slowed down and caught up on sleep, relaxing and (of course) a few household chores. Our friends brought their kids and enchilladas over on Saturday night. It was a fun filled evening of eatting, chatting, and throwing plates on the floor! Ka-bam!!!

Adam and I ended the weekend by walking Rainforest trail. It's a beautiful little trail out on North Douglas and Rosco had a lot of fun running up and down the path. There are signs of Fall everywhere-leaves are on the ground, skunk cabbage are dying, devil's clubs are turning yellow and I'm now wearing my winter boots and puffer vest.

I LOVE FALL!

Mondays....

Last night a friend made a post on her FB page about looking at Mondays as "FunDays" and trying to get excited about the day.
I figured having that kind of attitude could only help me get through the dreaded MONDAY. So, my mission today was to relax and enjoy the day for what it was. Here are a few things that made my Monday great.

Setting the alarm 15 minutes before I needed to get up so I could snuggle with Adam & Rosco.
Hazelnut creamer in my coffee.
Having four easy classes today where all the kids managed to participate, follow directions and have a good time!
Looking forward to tacos and a movie!

What made your Monday great??

Love this season...

While summer is definitely my favorite time of the year (no school, sleeping in, staying in p.j.'s until noon, traveling, warm weather..the list could go on) I do love September and October in Southeast.
*Love the cold crisp feel in the air...
*Love the leaves that blow in the breeze...
*Love the sun that shines to remind us of summer...
*Love breaking out the hats, gloves and scarves...

What do you love about fall?

random ramblings

It was another great week at school for the two of us. Our friend's son started preschool this week and I was able to pop in a couple times and see the little tyke in action. The teachers got a kick out of it when he looked up and said "oh, hi Tristan! That's my friend." Yup, my little buddy is in preschool!!! Can't wait till he comes to Kindergarten and I get to see him in my lifeskill class!
We also had open house this week. It made for a long day but was fun to see the students so excited to show their parents their school.
Rosco's been feeling a little neglected lately. We've just been too busy in the evenings to take him for a proper walk. Luckily, Erin and I plan on walking today before I go to work.
The tour season is slowly coming to an end. The last ship comes in on the 24th. It's been fun but it'll be nice to only have ONE job for a while. Hmmm, what will I do with all that free time?

Saturday

I'm so glad it's a three day weekend! 5 day work weeks are tough!
This morning I went to work at the Red Dog. It was just Molly and I and we were able to drink coffee and catch up while we worked (how pathetic is it that we have to be at work in order to catch up over coffee???!!!!).
After work we went to the T-shirt company to do some Christmas shopping. I managed to find a few Christmas presents but seemed to have walked out the door with a few presents for myself.
After that Adam, Rosco and I all drove out to Point Bridget for a walk. It was beautiful out! We didn't make it far on our trail because it started to get muddy but that is definitely a trail we want to hike sometime!

Survived the first week!

It's back to school for us. Adam's class is a lot different from last years bunch. Adam's had to play drill-sergeant for the past few days but they're starting to get it.
It seems that it's harder and harder to wake up as the week goes on. Luckily, we have a lot of coffee on hand and get to hang out with awesome people once we get to work. I think this is going to be a great school year!
