Marvelous Monday

It's hard to believe that another week has come and gone and it's time for Marvelous Monday number TWO already!

Soooooo, today was marvelous because.....

I wore my green shoes!
I got lots of hugs, hi 5's and smiles ;-)

I learned a new song while I was visiting Mrs. C's class!

I had fun with my 5th grade classes today! We're going to do personal growth journal's this year and they had a great time decorating them today.

I got to have lunch with my hubby today =)

Adam and I rocked out to our favorite song after work.

We had a Ketchikan friend stop by and catch up for a bit this evening.

It's my sister's BIRTHDAY!!!!
All in all it was a great Monday. I hope yours was just as good =)

One baby girl, a quick 5K and survival...

That's what the past few days have been all about. We survived our first week of school. Adam's class is full of loveable and adorable 5th graders. I've been adjusting to our new schedule which is a little complex but I think I'll get used to it soon. We have lots of new energetic teachers and a principal who seems to be exactly what we need. It was an exhausting week but definitely a good start to the school year.

GIRL! That's what my friend Stephie is having!! Last night was the announcement party (or sex party as we all so fondly called it). They asked the ultrasound technician to write down the sex on a piece of paper and gave it to her parents. Her parents were the ONLY ones who knew what Stephie would be having (what a secret to have to keep!!!) and they filled a pinata with the appropriate colored candy. On the night of the party Kyle and Stephie took turns wacking it until pink candy announced to the guests that it was a GIRL!!! Congrats to Stephie & Kyle! Beat the Odds 5K! Yesterday I ran a 5K with some of my work friends. I've actually been running a little so this year was way easier than my first year! One of our little 4th grade students ran with us and kept us entertained with her cute stories and good advice (apparently you should marry someone rich!!). This was my Mindy friend's FIRST 5K and she did awesome! I'm also super proud of my Stephie friend who ran a 5K while 5 months pregnant! Yikes! We all did great and came in around at around 33 minutes! MaryAnn, ME, Stephie (and baby), Mindy & Kelley

Marvelous Monday

A couple of my blog friends have cute weekly blog posts and I thought it was such a fun idea. I've toyed with what I'd like to do for a while now and finally decided that in an attempt to appreciate all the wonderful things/people I have in my life my weekly blog posts would be titled "Marvelous Monday". My goal will be to find something Marvelous about my Mondays each and every week.
I've prepared myself for the fact that some weeks will be tough (in fact, I'm finding todays post to be a hard after spending $700 on tires!!) but I'm determined to find something good about today. I have such a great life filled with amazing people and it's sometimes it's easy to get caught up with the stress and chaos of daily trials and tribulations. I think it's important to stop and be grateful for what I have and I'm hoping that my weekly blogs will be a good reminder.

So....here goes....

Today was marvelous because

*I feel safer on my $700 tires

*I brought a smile to someone's face

*I now have groceries in my fridge and gas in my car

*I laughed at silly jokes
*I ran two miles without stopping

Staying in Juneau

So, my little bathroom post has apparently caused lots of questions about WHERE we're moving. No, we can't go live with my sister in Colorado-as much as we'd love to become Boulder hippies and drive to Parker to get our niece fix- or anywhere else outside of Juneau.
Our little family is growing but not in the traditional sense! Adam's dad and brother have both decided to move to Juneau! We are so excited about the idea of having more family here. We've known for a while that we'd eventually want to sell our place and find a bigger home with our own yard and shop but since his dad announced that he'd be moving we decided to speed things up a little bit. We're keeping our fingers crossed for a quick sell and smooth transition into a new home!

Bathroom Pictures...as promised

We're finally finished with the bathrooms! Now it's just a matter of finishing a few little things (like putting the doors back on!) and the construction zone will be picked up and my home should look fairly normal again!
Adam just loves remodeling and fixing things around the house. I'm so lucky that he enjoys this but I'm a girl who loves it when her home is nice and tidy and having tools in my living room isn't really my idea of fun. But, the after product is always worth it. Thanks hunny =)

The red one is our guest bathroom. We added black and white tile and painted the walls the same color of red as our living room. We added a free standing sink which seems to open up the bathroom and give it a little more room.

The blue one is our bathroom! My favorite is the glass tile on the floor.

We have a few more small projects to do around the condo before we put it on the market. We're hoping to find new owners that will love this place as much as we do!

It's official...

Summer 2010 is over.

It's been such an amazing summer. Lot's of travels and time spent with family and friends....gorgeous weather.....lots of campfires.....a beautiful wedding...and lots of fun with my hunny.
We're looking forward to the start of a new school year with lots of changes. We have a new principal at school this year and we're putting our condo on the market and looking for a new home. I'm sure the year will have its share of ups and downs but I'm optimistic and think that overall things will be GREAT!
Bye bye summer. You were wonderful. XOXOX

Hello Monday!

I'm enjoying my last Monday of ultimate laziness before school starts again. Enjoying the grogginess that comes from staying up too late drinking wine with a friend. We're back to work on Thursday and I'm savoring the last few days inbetween where I have NOTHING planned except basking in the sunshine, cleaning the house and restocking the fridge.
Happy Monday! XOXXO
P.S.
Pictures of the bathrooms will be posted soon. They're sooooo close to being finished!

I thought I'd share some sunny beach pictures for those of us who have been living in xtra-tuffs and rain gear! Ahhhh, sunshine!

Happy Birthday Sweet D!

It was a weekend full of birthdays! My sweet friend Mindy's daughter turned 2 yesterday. Mindy asked me to do a little photoshoot and take some pictures at her party. We had a great time getting her all dressed up and taking pictures. The party theme was "butterflies" so it made for some adorable pictures.
Here's a small taste of the 200+ pictures that I took over the weekend. Enjoy! XOXOX

Happy birthday, Erin!

Last night was my friend Erin's birthday. Unfortunately for her (yay for me!!) her hubby had to work so she dropped her sweet little one's off at day care and we went out for the yummy Mexican dinner. We had way too much fun laughing and giggling over chips and salsa and pomegranate margaritas (so good!).
Of course, a birthday wouldn't be complete without dessert so we picked up the boys and headed back to her place for chocolate cream pie and presents! Noah kept Adam entertained with his new Star Wars book while Logie played on the floor with Rosco.
Adam and I are so fortunate that we met this wonderful little family (thanks for leaving Cali and moving to Juneau!). I have so much fun on our adventures! (Who else would try on an antelope dress in the middle of the Salvation Army? )
Happy Birthday!
